Published Articles Written by Rushmore Faculty and Students

Rushmore University is proud of both our faculty and alumni who have published works. Many alumni published books based on their Rushmore coursework. You can read about these publications and the authors on the the Faculty web page, the Alumni web page and the Associate Facutly web page.  While students are not required to publish articles or books to earn your degree, we are happy to help you write and publish if you so desire.

Professor Dan Poynter is the preeminent expert on writing, publishing, and marketing non-fiction books.  He has writen over 30 books and has sold hundreds of thousands of his books over the last 25 years.  His bestseller, "The Self-Publishing Manual: How to Write, Print and Sell your Own Book", is recommended for all Rushmore students interested in writing a book.  Professor Poynter has also provided articles on writing, publishing, and the promoting of books F-R-E-E on his website at parapublishing.com.  This is what Professor Poynter has to say about publishing your own book.

"A book provides you with more credibility than anything else you can do. The fact is authors are highly valued in our society.  People think if you wrote a book, you know something. And you probably do. When you think about it, you are writing your book from the very best research plus personal experience. You research every book and article, distill them down to the essentials, direct your writing toward a specific audience and illustrate it with your personal experiences. You are earning an advanced degree in the subject. Your book validates your expertise and lends more credibiltiy to what you say."

Professor Donald Mitchell has published many books and articles on business strategy.  He is the number one reviewer of business books at Amazon.com.  Dr. Mitchell also writes extensively on leadership and the challenges surrounding successful leaders, including: Be A Constructive Leader.
